David Julie Elijah and Evie arrived safely in Perth for two weeks holiday on the 20th. Evie had her birthday the day before so we had to celebrate.

It was a warm day so filling up her birthday present was in order.

Lemon Tree Guessing Competition

Hello the Lemon tree has now finished its huge crop a total of 546 big juicy Lemons picked over the last 6 months. Gordon is the competition winner his guess was 265. I was the lowest with 100.

In the mean time it is loaded with a new crop which is yielding fruit already. Would you like to guess the number by faith? Most are still green so difficult to see with a picture.

Karri Valley Continued

This was the view over the lake from our front window. We were reminded of Psalm 19:1-2 every day.

The last day it rained so no walks just indoor activities. We managed five games of scrabble. Mum is ahead in the competition presently.

I think I have worked it out with the photos we will see.

The birds were very friendly and actually took the food out of our hands when we ventured out on the varandah.

We went for walks and discovered a walk through tree as you can see.

Can't work out how to get the photos lined up with the commentary so will do a separate post.

We were also given a voucher for the restaurant so we tried various dishes that looked like the ones on the cooking shows.

Karri Valley Resort

Hello

Mum and I just returned from a wonderful four days in Karri Valley Resort. This was a thank you gift from the church fellowship for our time with them over the last eight years.

As the pictures will show it is just a picture.

It also enabled lots of walks every day Mum even braved the swinging bridge which she said gave her a funny feeling.

The waterfall behind the swinging bridge was flowing well as there had been some rain the week before we came and it is fed by a spring.

Whale Watching

As in the previous post on the blog we continue to celebrate Nellie's birthday. The four children kindly gave her a watching the whales voucher (which included me as I had to keep an eye on Nellie)

Well we went early to make sure we didn't get stuck in the traffic and arrived over an hour before departure time.
We had to sign so we wouldn't sue the company in case one of us got swallowed by a whale etc.

You will see Nellie posing full of expectation in front of the vessel that took about 60 of us.

However it wasn't long in the journey with a 2 meter swell and choppy conditions that our birthday girl felt seasick (as did over half of the other passengers) and needed a special bag for those occasions, and seeing my fair maiden in such a condition and smelling the content I turned green around the gills but managed to stay strong for my damsel in distress (someone had to get fresh bags).

Later the tour operator said that the whales were keeping their distance as they were protecting their calves. We saw a few adults and calves at a distance a couple of tails and one splash and some dolphins. So we did not have the 'eye to eye contact' that our son Peter had when he went whale watching.

However it was great, thank you very much for your gift it was a great experience and the memory (feeling) will stay with us for a long time.

Celebrations continuing

After celebrating David's birthday and Mum's pending 70th we all went to Kallaroo to spend time with the Killow family.

We were wonderfully dined and wined.

We were entertained with musical items from both Alister and Hannah. Thank you very much!

We also went for a walk down the beach to work up an appetite and breath in the clear ocean air.

And the evening was continued with games of 'Padfinderen and UNO'

Anita stayed in Kallaroo for the night and Peter and David returned with us to Armadale. We have just brought them to the airport and they are on their way back to Rachael and family in Brisbane and Julie and family in Sydney. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Anita returns here tonight and will fly back to London and Tom and the family. Thank you also.

Celebrating another birthday

With Peter, Irene, Anita and David all together and having celebrated David's birthday yesterday we thought it appropriate to celebrate Mum's coming birthday as well. The day started with opening presents as we did many years ago and all the children climbing into bed, that was worth a photo. We had a huge breakfast prepared by all and after we visited Omi in Armadale hospital (she is recovering from a broken hip operation) The family enjoyed a ride into the country side with a visit to a favourite dam to check the water level. It was a fabulous day. We also skyped with London and Sydney had a great meal of 'bruine bonen en spek' and a few games of take two. We just want to praise the Lord for a great time together.

In anticipation of Nellie's 70th birthday later in October all the children came to Armadale WA. Anita arrived from London on Friday 2am in the morning, Irene came from Kallaroo 60 kilometers away at 7.30pm and Peter arrived from Brisbane at 8.25pm and David from Sydney at 8.20pm that same day. It was great all could celebrate David's 35th birthday on his birthday (30th Sept) We feel greatly blessed to have the four children with us and thank their spouses for letting them come. We had a great evening and we still have the weekend to come PTL.

After a little over 8 years as pastor at ACC it was good to hand over to our new pastor and his wife. The church thanked Nellie and I with a special lunch with a huge supply of food and a flower display and 4 days voucher in Karri Valley Resort (near Pemberton) When we saw the flowers near our fruit supply we thought it worth a picture as we saw God's beautiful creation colours. Christmas 2010 at Armadale

Hi Every one,

Just a couple of photos from Armadale where the temperature went over 40C. We are thankful for air conditioners.

The Killow family, Mum and I and Omi were able to share Christmas lunch together.

We opened the presents from the Brisbane Bosmas, thank you very much we will share the DVD, we will watch the series after the Killows have seen them. Also the presents from the Jones family in London, thank you also and the presents from the Bosmas in Sydney.

We managed to see and talk to David and Elijah on Skype (see photo) and were also shown Evie who was taken out of bed fast asleep to be shown on skype. Julie was having a little catch up nap as she had a temperature.

Sydney Trip

Omi, Mum and I made the trip to Sydney for Ruby Oliphant's 90th birthday. You will see that Mum also made a speech and presented Ruby with flowers on behalf of the mission family.

The Brisbane Bosmas drove down for the occasion and 9 of us stayed at the ECM number 1 flat. During the day the Sydney Bosmas joined us so that made 12 and a half.

Most of the photos are self explanatory but if you need a little help please ask. They all have to do with having a good time, eating out, Chinese, and Thai, and eating at the flat and going to different parks (Pratten Park and and a great park near Randwick near the old brickyard) for the children (and adults) to play.

Sunday morning I took a picture of the Brisbane Bosmas leaving with their packed car, they brought their own bedding. I was just able to get the mattress (blue colour) hanging from two ropes from the ceiling.

David had arranged for all the boys to go to his church for an outreach event, beer tasting. The girls insisted on taking a picture before the boys left and one when we returned. They said on our return it was a success as we returned looking a lot happier! Can you tell?

The adults had great fun on the computer games brought for the children and the last evening we also managed a game of scrabble.

Monday morning we left for the West and I forgot to get a picture of Omi's hired commode being strapped to the roof rack of Julie's car but you get the idea as David drove through Sydney and dropped us of at the Sydney air terminal at 5am with car full of passengers and wheelchair and walker and luggage and the commode tied on the roof rack.

Well we are all back home after some happy days, we praise the Lord for safety in travel and many happy memories.

Rottnest

We were invited to spend a couple of nights in a lovely little cottage on Rottnest with the Killows. We took no pictures of the cottage but we did take pictures of us as we biked around the island and visited different places and did some real bird watching. There are over 30 different species of common birds seen on the island. Some migrate all the way from Siberia to feed on the lakes at Rottnest.

Most of you have visited the island in your time and seen the Quokkas, they were called Rats by the Dutch who first discovered as white seafarers passing through in search for lost seamen in 1696 by commander William de Vlamingh from which Rottnest derived its name.

They never found the lost seaman as far as we know.

We had a great time.

Tripping around Fremantle

Decided to take Friday off so Omi, Mum/Oma uncle Bernie and I hopped in the car and went to Fremantle where we had coffees and Omi a milk shake and cakes at the E Shed on the harbour wharf. (see live sheep trade ship in harbour in background). We then went to Cicerello and had fish and chips, more coffee and ice cream (well Omi and I did). After which we drove to the South mole and then to the North mole, where Omi said we could scatter her ashes and that of groot Opa when the time came (as that was the place where they came to Australia 55 years ago). We also inspected the cargo container terminals before traveling back to Byford where we had another cuppa with uncle Bernie. A great day all told PTL. Love to you all Opa and Oma, Mum and Dad XX.

Hi everyone we continue to celebrate as tomorrow it is Omi's birthday. Unfortunately we also have say good bye to David, Julie and Elijah as they fly back home to Sydney.

It was great having a cappuccino in the park and play area. Elijah savouring his morning tea.

We also enjoyed fish and chips at Cicerrellos in Fremantle and more cappuccinos for some and icecream for others.
Uncle Bernie was able to join us for the occasion.

Oma, Omi's 90th Celebrations

It was wonderful for our Mum and Oma for some and Omi for many more to celebrate her 90th birthday. It is not till the 17th of July but it was convenient to start early.

The cake actually had 90 candles and it took half a dozen grandchildren to light it and double that number of great grandchildren to help blow it out.

Hope you can recognize some of the family members.

Day at the beach and back home

We are enjoying the visit of David Julie and Elijah. No photos yet we are working on it.
We went canoeing and snorkling at Woodman's point. Managed to swamp the canoe as the water was a bit rough and with David and I at 180+ kilos there wasn't a lot of side sticking out. There was no fish to bring home either. We did have cappuccino that helped and Elijah had a go at two good play areas.

We have now returned to Armadale and slowly getting back into routine. First a couple more photos from the family 'Olieman Day' The are some photos we received on our return. We sat on the first table of three to cater for all 37 adults and children.

We went bike riding with Arend and Maartje and managed 35 kilometers riding through the 'polders' not far from where Arend and Maartje live.

Just can't resist another tulip shot. In one paddock we counted 15 different colours.

Nellie was able to catch up with Gerry, the girl she went to Australia with in 1965. There was a lot to catch up on.

From Holland we spend just a little time with Tom Anita Edmund Sebastian Reuben and Stella it was diffucult getting every one to say 'cheese' at the same time. However we achieved a great family shot.

Well back in Armadale the next event to attend was the birthdays of Irene and Hannah (6th May). The Tulips Gordon bought were very appropriate I thought.

We had a great evening together over a meal and were able to show the photos on the TV screen. It was great to bring the Killows up to date with all their siblings cousins and friends.

Family visit to Holland

Our visit to Holland was disrupted by a day because of the volcano ash from Iceland, so instead of going by plane we went by train and ferry. The family day went well and 37 were able to come.

Nellie posed with some tulips and on our return to London we found a happy daughter and growing grand daughter.

We hope to return to Perth tomorrow.

London Spain London

Hi all
After leaving Nellie with Anita and Tom and the boys and our little grand daughter Stella Lucy to travel to Spain for the ECM trusties meetings and the Mission conference little did I think there would be all this air traffic chaos in Europe causing a 20 hour bus trip from Valencia to Calais and a ferry crossing and train trip to get back to London. PTL all went well.

The photo is taken in Regent Park when we went for a little stroll to see the tulips.

Nellie and I are booked to go across to Holland now with train and ferry to Hoek van Holland. Our visit to Holland to see Nellie's siblings has been cut short by one day so far, depending about return travel to London and Perth DV.

Hi Everyone

Another little update on Easter Sunday, Anita felt well enough to attend church Easter Sunday morning and little Stella Lucy Jones came also and as you can imaging was the 'star attraction.'

Tom and Anita were called forward during the service and the Good Friday born girl was prayed for and blessed on Easter Sunday. It was a celebration of praise to Jesus our Saviour and a special focus and ministry to the children with chocolate egg hunt included.

After the service Tom shouted the family to lunch at the pub across the corner from the church building.

Hello Family I am happy to announce the save delivery of Anita and Tom's little girl to add to their family of three boys. Anita went into labour at about 3.30pm and the baby arrived at 5.10pm it went so quick that Tom delivered the baby and the midwife came in time for the after birth. Both Mother and daughter are doing well. PTL.

The three musketeers, Eddy, Seb and Roo will now have to take princess Stella Jones in their adventures.

Hello Family and Friends

Just an other update. While we have safely arrived in London we were stuck in the underground for an extra hour and half as there was break in the Piccadili line at Kingscross we finally arrived at Marleybone where the Jones' now live the next stop after Baker Street.

We celebrated Tom's birthday on the 31st and also Shannon the aupair who turned 17 and shares the same date for her birthday with Tom. A good time was had by all. Anita had cooked a lovely roast. Young Reuben really stacked it away and enjoyed his food and company of course, happy to use both hands.

We were told we had brought the cold, rain and wind to London as it was nice weather before we arrived. It is still snowing further up North. And to think it is a balmy 34C back in Armadale.

Still no news on the baby will post some pictures when they come to hand. The Lord's blessing and love from Mum and Dad XX

Storm in Armadale (Perth)

Hello Everyone

It has been a while since you have heard from us. The routine has been much the same but yesterday was a little different. Mum had a molar removed (sorry no pictures) that had given her trouble for some time. And later in the day the power went off for 3 hours we used the generator to keep Omi's air conditioner going a decent storm then hit Perth and Armadale and dumped over 55mm rain in half an hour and we lost power at 6.20pm and didn't get it back till 2am next morning. We thank the Lord we sustained no damage but around Perth there is a lot of damage. The rain was a blessing as we had had no rain for 4 months. The photo is what we saw as the storm cleared. Peter's 40th

It was great having Peter over for his 40th birthday for a day and a half.

The day started with a sleep in and morning tea with Omi and after that we met up with the Killows in Kings Park where we had lunch.

And we cut the birthday cake and enjoyed a generous piece with a cup of coffee.

We needed another photo just for the record.

Well a couple of photos that is at Kings Park.

We returned home to enjoy 'bruine bonen met spek' for those in the know.

Showing Visitors around Perth

We had Ernie and Ruby Addicote from London staying with us for a few days so lots of photos were made here are some of them. Canning Dam and a picnic spot.

Going out requires a lot of eating so we also had fish and chips and salads in Fremantle.

Kings Park is a must for visitors so we had coffee there (Omi couldn't sleep well that night, not used to coffee at night) we felt like film stars having our picture taken where ever we went.

New Life at 45 Forrest Road

The birds must like the enviroment in the back yard of 45 Forrest Road. The Doves have produced their second batch of two young in our stag horn. The New Holland Honey eaters have also produced two young in a bush along side the fence.

Oma was happy to look at Alister's present which I am happy to say was not 'boring.'

Mum Omi and I went for more sight seeing and went to New Norsia and visited the chapel and museum and viewed a few other buildings. Morning tea in Bindoon, lunch in Gin Gin and afternoon tea at the Gravity discovery Centre and there are a couple of photos to prove I went to the top of the leaning tower.

It is interesting at the Gravity Centre (which was very good) when the scientists have no answers they are happy to refer to the unknown as "The Hand of God'.

We travelled from Bunbury to Busselton the next day on to Pemberton to see the giant Karri trees and on to Walpole then to Albany where we visted Sylvia Allen former ECM missionary to Spain.

Then on to Borden where we stayed at 'the Lily' where a real Dutch grain grinding wind mill was build and is in use.

Growing up in Sydney

It is a delight when we actually see our grandchildren and when we receive photos showing them growing up and changing from babies to children and into adults. It is our prayer that all will personally come to know Jesus as their Saviour and Lord.

Visit to Kallaroo

Omi Oma and I were able to visit the Killows in Kallaroo to wish the two birthday girls happy birthday and the Lord's blessing. Also presents from the Jones' in London needed to be delivered. We were able to admire James' trophy for winning his 4 kilometers school cross country run and also hear of Irene and Hannah's experiences in Indonesia.

It was great to visit Anita, Tom, Eddie, Sebastian and Reuben in London. See happy family shot.

Eddie is helping Opa to unpack his case which included 26 kilos of Anita's study books (seen stacked in the corner)

The highlight being Eddie's 4th birthday celebrated in Kensington Gardens near the Peter Pan play ground. Some 30 children with parents helped to make it a great day.

Going to School is an exciting time. The eldest three Brisbane Bosmas have started school in Brisbane after a year of home schooling while traveling around Australia. Serpentine Falls outing

We were picked up bright and early by the Killows for a swim at Serpentine Falls 20 minutes drive South in the Darling Ranges. Apart from finding the local Yabbies, who examined us as much as we them, at the bottom of the swimming hole (pictured) we also found coins, sunglasses, marbles, half a mobile phone, hat etc. We then had coffee with the magpies looking for tit-bits, the Kangaroos were on walkabout. After the morning tea with choc-chip homemade biscuits and Oma's fruitcake we went picking black berries and finished off the morning with fish and chips back home.

40 years Wedding Anniversary

Having celebrated our 40th wedding anniversay a little early with the Brisbane and Sydney Bosma's as well as with Anita and Reuben, pictures posted below, we were able on the 28th December PTL celebrate it with Gordon Irene James Hannah and Alister as they treated us to lunch in Kings Park at the Zania Cafe right in a National Park bush setting. Very enjoyable. I am sure that you will be able to spot the various family members and the happy couple.

After that we went for 'tree top walk' in Kings Park. It was just a wonderful setting and a beautiful summer's day.

Hannah posed with us in the original bridesmaid dress her auntie Margaret wore on the day 40 years ago.

While enjoying our treetop walk we received a SMS from David Julie and Elijah from the Netherlands, they arrived safely. We also received a call from Peter Rachael Joshua Nathan Leanna and Shalese a few minutes later. Anita Tom Eddie Sebastian and Rueben had sent a fruit basket with greetings the day before we felt really spoiled. Thank you all.

We also received a hanging basket with various plants from Mum's brothers and sisters in Holland delivered at the same time.

Mum and Anita with Reuben and I spent a lovely time with Gordon Irene James Hannah and Alister at Kallaroo. We were spoiled with a lovely morning tea and very filling lunch. Very nice and satisfying, thank you Irene and Gordon. Along side to show how we filled the time, with scrabble, entertainment on the piano and items on the guitar. We thank our Heavenly Father for all His blessings.

Anita and Reuben arrived from London to Armadale within 24 hours door to door. It was great she was able to see Omi and show off Reuben.

Mum and I have Peter Rachael Joshua Nathan Leanna and Shalese here from Brisbane for a couple of weeks and David Julie and young Elijah have arrived from Sydney and also hope to be here for 2 weeks. We then had Gordon Irene James Hannah and Alister from Kallaroo drop in for a few hours and with Omi here also it made for a great party for David's birthday. Hello everyone what a week it has been. I was farewelled by Nellie and the Killow family from Perth airport where as you can see most fell asleep waiting for me to go.I was traveling to Sydney for the ECM prayer week and I was able to stay with David and Julie and young Elijah. They are keeping well. Had a great time with the ECM family and appreciated the studies given by Johan Lukasse on 1 Peter.

My time was cut short as Nellie asked for me to come home asap as Omi wasn't well with a blocked bowel. She was taken to Armadale hospital and then transferred to Fremantle for an operation. This was thankfully avoided as there was a turn for the better. Many people were praying for her.

Today 12/7/08 we had wonderful news that Anita and Tom had their third son with both mother and boy doing well PTL.
